Child Safety Standards
BoredMondays does not allow accounts for users under 13. BoredMondays is owned and operated by NLA LLC.
1. Zero tolerance
BoredMondays strictly prohibits and will act immediately on:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Grooming or sexual solicitation of minors
- Sextortion
- Trafficking
- Predatory adult/minor interactions
- Sexual exploitation, including attempts to obtain sexual media from minors
These are reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement where required by law.
2. The adult↔minor gate
BoredMondays uses a self-declared age band to keep adults and minors apart. Confirmed adults cannot say hi to or message confirmed minors, and 18+ Bored Rooms cannot include minor participants. This is a harm-reduction layer, not a guarantee — minors must still be truthful about their age, and adults must not misrepresent theirs. Circumventing the gate is a serious violation.
3. How to report
Use the ••• → Report menu on any Pick, comment, message, room, or profile and choose Child safety. Urgent child-safety and credible-threat reports are routed to a restricted queue and prioritized by our jurisdiction system, which may hide a message or end a room immediately. Non-emergency concerns: safety@boredmondays.com.
4. Teen protections
Users under 18 get safer defaults automatically: private profiles, People Pick approval, limited discoverability, no public birthday, no precise location, no human-attractiveness ranking, and read-receipt control.
5. We don't expose minors
We do not show a public "minor" badge, do not reveal precise location, do not connect unrelated adults with minors where restricted, and do not surface minors in adult-targeted discovery.
6. MyInsight & sharing
Minor accounts produce an extra-filtered, minor-safe MyInsight share that excludes private Pick metadata, People Pick targets, and friend names. Minors can revoke any share at any time.
7. Bored Rooms
Public rooms carry an audience class (13+, Teen-safe, 18+). The adult↔minor gate blocks minors from 18+ rooms. Room hosts and the moderation system can end a room that violates these standards.
8. Get help
If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. For non-emergency child-safety concerns, email safety@boredmondays.com.
9. Crisis resources
If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available: in the US, text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line) or call/text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
