These Terms govern your use of BoredMondays, a social choice app where you answer, debate, and compare Picks with friends and in live Bored Rooms. BoredMondays is owned and operated by NLA LLC ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use BoredMondays. Users under 18 ("minors") receive enhanced safety defaults automatically. You agree to provide truthful information about your age; providing a false age to circumvent safety protections is a violation of these Terms and may result in account termination.
2. Your account
You are responsible for your account, credentials, and all activity under your account. Keep your login secure and do not share it. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
3. Your content & license
You retain ownership of the Picks, options, comments, votes, messages, and other content you create. You grant BoredMondays a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, process, moderate, and enable you to share that content within the app and via share links, for as long as your account is active or your content is retained. We do not claim ownership of your content.
4. Social features — Say Hi, messaging & Bored Rooms
Say Hi & friendships: Saying hi is a mutual-consent gesture — a friendship only forms when the other person says hi back. You can withdraw a hi or remove a friend at any time.
Messaging: Direct messages are limited to confirmed friends. BoredMondays does not currently support images, video, audio, or files in messages — only text, Pick cards, room invites, and MyInsight shares. You can unsend your own messages, react with emojis, and mute or report any conversation. Adults and minors cannot message each other.
Bored Rooms: Public and private game rooms may be created or joined by eligible users. Hosts control who joins, the timer mode, and the audience class. Room activity is governed by the same Community Guidelines as the rest of the app.
5. People Picks
People Picks must stay fun, playful, and respectful. You may only include people consistent with their permissions, and any named person can remove themselves at any time. Targeted, humiliating, or body/attractiveness-ranking People Picks are not allowed.
6. Rate It
Rate It is for things — outfits, food, cars, setups, media — not for rating people's bodies or attractiveness.
7. Prohibited conduct
You may not use BoredMondays to: bully, harass, or stalk; threaten or incite violence; sexualize minors or share child sexual abuse material (CSAM); groom or solicit minors; promote hate, discrimination, or terrorism; doxx or share others' private information; impersonate; spam or run scams; or encourage self-harm. We treat child-safety and credible-threat reports with the highest priority and may act immediately under Section 9.
8. Age-assurance & minor safety
To help protect minors, BoredMondays uses a self-declared age band to enforce an adult↔minor gate: confirmed adults cannot say hi to or message confirmed minors, and 18+ rooms are not eligible to include minor participants. Users under 18 receive private profiles by default, People Pick approval requirements, limited discoverability, and no precise-location exposure. These measures are not a substitute for real-world supervision. If you believe a minor is at risk, contact local emergency services and our safety team at safety@boredmondays.com.
9. Reporting & moderation
You can report any Pick, comment, message, room, or profile via the ••• menu. Reports are classified by an automated jurisdiction system that prioritizes urgent cases (minor safety, credible threats, self-harm) and may recommend immediate action such as hiding a message or ending a room. We may remove content, restrict, or suspend accounts for violations, especially for child safety or credible threats. You can appeal significant moderation decisions by contacting safety@boredmondays.com. Repeated or serious violations may result in permanent termination.
9b. Live chat, BoredGuard & automated safety
Bored Rooms may include live text chat. Room Owners and Moderators can warn, timeout, mute, kick, or ban users from that room and manage slow mode and chat locks; their authority is limited to that room and never extends to platform-wide bans. BoredMondays runs BoredGuard, an automated safety system that screens public chat, profiles, and public Picks using deterministic rules, specialized classifiers, and contextual LLM review for ambiguous content. BoredGuard may automatically contain clear, high-confidence abuse (rate limits, message blocking, temporary chat locks, quarantine) but an LLM alone never issues a permanent platform ban — that requires human Trust & Safety review. Private friend messages may be scanned for abuse/safety only where disclosed in our Privacy Policy; moderators do not casually browse private messages.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
11. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NLA LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the app.
13. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts for serious or repeated violations of these Terms or our Community Guidelines. You can delete your account at any time in Settings. On deletion, your content is removed or de-identified, though certain safety and legal records may be retained as required.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or via email with a new effective date. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Legal provisions
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to BoredMondays are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which NLA LLC is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes are resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory local consumer-protection laws give you rights that cannot be waived.
